Convert an opportunity, presentation or estimate
Convert an opportunity/presentation/estimate
To convert an opportunity, presentation, or estimate to a sales order:
- In the opportunity/presentation/estimate > click Actions > Create Sales Order
- In the text box beside the product, type the quantity your client would like to order
- Click Convert to Sales Order
Any products with 0 quantity, or no quantity, will be left behind when you convert to a sales order. All product quantities can be adjusted directly in the sales order.
Create a sales order using your global search bar
To create a sales order using your global search bar:
- Click the global search bar > New Project
- Enter the client's name, or click to + add new client > enter the new client's name > select their industry > click Create
- Add the project name
- Select an Event Type from the drop-down
- Select S (Sales Order) as your starting stage

Select an in-hands date

Select a billing contact, or click + New Contact at the bottom of the drop-down to create a new contact

If you are adding a new contact (optional):

Enter all required contact details - required fields are indicated by a *

Click Create

Create a sales order using your Most Recent icon
To create a sales order using your Most Recent icon:
- Click the most recent icon > New Project
- Enter the client's name, or click to + add new client > enter the new client's name > select their industry > click Create
- Add the project name
- Select the event type
- Select S (Sales Order) as your starting stage

Create a sales order through new Dashboards
From either your Sales, Production, Finance, or Management Dashboards:

Click New Project in the top right corner.

Select a pre-existing client from the drop-down list, or click + New Client at the bottom of the drop-down to add a new client to commonsku

If you are adding a new client (optional):

Type the client's name

Select their industry from the drop-down menu

Click Create Client

Select an Event Type from the drop-down

Select SO (sales order) as your Starting Stage

Click Continue

Select a billing contact, or click + New Contact at the bottom of the drop-down to create a new contact

The project's client contact will default to whichever contact is selected as the Billing contact at this stage.
Create a sales order through the Clients tab
To create a sales order through the Clients tab:
- In the Clients tab, click a client's name > select Actions > New Project
- Add the project name

Select an Event Type from the drop-down

Select S (Sales Order) as your Starting Stage

To create a sales order through the client's page:
- In the Clients tab, click a client's name > select Actions > Client Page
- In the client page, select Actions > New Sales Order
- Add the project name

You can create a new sales order by copying a(n):

What if I created an order for the wrong client?
Scenario #1 - You haven't created any Purchase Orders
In this case, you can:
- Click Actions > Copy Sales Order
- Type the new client and project name
- Click Copy
- In the new project, go to the Overview tab > click the original sales order # > that will redirect you to the original project's Overview tab
- Copy/paste notes from the original project to the new project's overview
- Go back to the original sales order and click Actions > Delete Sales Order
- Delete any other client-facing forms (Actions > Delete Estimate/Presentation)
- Delete the original project (Actions > Delete Project)
Scenario #2 - You've already created the Purchase Orders
In this case, you can:
- Click Actions > Copy Sales Order
- Type the new client and project name
- Click Copy
- In the new project, go to the Overview tab > click the original sales order # > that will redirect you to the original project's Overview tab
- Change the sales order's status to Closed
- Change all of the purchase orders' statuses to Closed
- Notify your accounting team to apply the supplier bills against the new project, rather than the original POs
