FAQ

Can you have both integrations?

Yes! You can connect both integrations. However, you are not able to sync with both HubSpot and Mailchimp at the same time. You would need to have a live sync with one, then stop and switch the sync to the other if you want to run both platforms at once.

Does the sync with Mailchimp carry over the contact's first and last name so we can use Mailchimp's personalization feature?

Yes! We create a property in HubSpot and a column in Mailchimp that has “CSKU First Name” and “CSKU Last Name”.

Is the sales rep also exported to the email platform?

Yes! The sales rep is listed in the “CSKU sales rep first name” and “CSKU sales rep last name” field, which allows you to filter per sales rep inside MailChimp or HubSpot. This pulls from whoever the client rep is on the account.

Does the "no marketing" option sync back to commonsku from the marketing platform?

No, the sync won’t pass the "no marketing" feature from HubSpot or MailChimp into commonsku. However if you pass a contact from commonsku into the marketing platform and the existing contact in that platform has unsubscribed, we will leave them as unsubscribed in the marketing system.

Why would I want the unsubscribed contacts to go into Mailchimp?

As long as the contact is marked “No Marketing” in commonsku, we will not pass their information.

Can commonsku sync based on client rep?

Currently you are able to sync by client status, contact department and industry of the client. You would want to sync your list of contacts into either HubSpot or Mailchimp for a full distributorship, then break up the list based on properties or pieces of information (like client rep) once it is synced.

Can commonsku sync the status of a project to either marketing integration?

No, we are not able to sync order status information.

I have already exported contacts from commonsku to HubSpot or Mailchimp before this integration, will I get duplicate contacts?

We will match the contacts up in the sync by email. By creating new properties in HubSpot, we will just add the additional files rather than overwrite any information.

If I create a new contact in HubSpot or Mailchimp, will that information automatically pass back to commonsku?

The sync for contact creation only works one way (from commonsku to the marketing platform). This means that new contacts created in HubSpot or Mailchimp would not pass back into commonsku. The best practice would be to create the contact in commonsku first (or create a property that identifies these contacts to report on in your marketing platform).

If I send out a marketing email for a commonsku shop via Mailchimp, can I see click-through rates for the shop?

Yes! While we don’t have a full report of click through rates, you could pull this in the marketing platform directly or into the individual contact profiles in commonsku to see if people have interacted with it or not.
