October 2026 - commonsku Payments
Take card and ACH payments on your Invoices, Sales Orders, Deposits, and Shops Checkouts without leaving commonsku or reconciling by hand.
What's New
commonsku Payments is a payment processor built into commonsku. You can process credit card and ACH payments directly on Invoices, Sales Orders, Deposits, and commonsku Shops Checkouts, and see every transaction, fee, and payout in a dashboard inside the platform.
It is not a new way to get paid. It's the same card and ACH payments you already take, now running through a processor that's part of the platform you already use to run sales, orders, and Shops with reconciliation to QuickBooks (QBO), Xero, and Avalara built in.
commonsku Payments is currently available on all tiers to U.S companies. It's optional and opt-in, so you don't have to switch.
Why it Matters
Today, taking a payment and recording it are two separate jobs. You run the transaction in a separate processor, reconcile it against QBO or XERO by hand, and adjust Avalara yourself every time a refund goes out.
commonsku Payments closes that gap:
- Invoices settle for their full amount. A $1,000 invoice settles for $1,000, and fees are withdrawn separately afterward with nothing to recalculate before you reconcile.
- Transactions, fees, and payouts sync nightly to QBO, Xero, CSV, or webhooks.
- Invoices mark themselves paid the moment a card or ACH payment comes through.
- Full refunds sync automatically to Avalara for accurate tax handling.
- Fee forwarding is checked automatically against the rules in your client's state or location, including the debit-versus-credit distinction so you stay compliant wherever you sell.
Invoicing and getting paid now happen in the same place, and the embedded dashboard shows you where every transaction stands without switching systems.
Fees are competitive with what most distributors pay today. The bigger win is the hours back from no longer reconciling by hand.
Getting Started
- Complete the hosted approval flow to confirm your account details.
- Once your account is approved, you're ready to process.
Your existing processing continues without disruption until your account is approved and cut over.
Good to know: Some setups won't move over — NET terms, Shopify, cheques, or a processor commonsku doesn't currently support. Full refunds are supported today; partial and multiple refunds, saved cards, and pre-authorization aren't available in this phase.
